Bike Route 16 – Across the Fields

Parameters: Length: 37 km. Ascent: 458 meters. Terrain: paved, unpaved, gravel. Recommended bike: MTB, trekking, gravel. Difficulty: 2. Estimated time: 2 hours. Start: Liptovsky Jan

Short track for the beginning of your holiday or for the people who are not as physically capable to ride long rides.

On this route we explore surrounding villages and we will avoid asphalt routes as much as it is possible. We start on the singletracks behind Liptovský Ján then continue along the bank of rivers Váh and Belá, at their end we enter town’s forests and via local singletrails we continue to the village of Dovalovo.

Through the gravel roads we get to village Liptovská Kokava, we continue to another village Pribylina from where we finally leave asphalt and via nice forest roads we get behind village Vavrišovo to village Jamník. Here we must join an asphalt route and ride through the village to get back to Liptovský Ján.

Bike Route 10 – Short ride

Parameters: Length: 14 km. Elevation gain: 255 meters. Terrain: paved, unpaved, gravel. Recommended bike: MTB, gravel, trekking. Difficulty: 2. Estimated time: 1.5 hours. Start: Liptovský Ján.

This short track ideal for the evening’s ride has only 14 kilometers but from 98% it is offroad. The road leads us under the mountains Kastielske Lazy and smrekovica to valley Vislavce (everything singletrails or forest roads in bad condition). But from Vislavce onwards we can relax a little bit in the descent to Liptovska Porubka. From here we get via the local side roads to the bank of river Vah, we cross the river and continue on a field road copying bank of the river. We reach the swing bridge and again through the singletrail followed by field roads we get back to Liptovsky Jan.

Bike Route 7 – Evening’s Easy Ride

Length: 33 km. Elevation gain: 394 meters. Terrain: paved, unpaved, gravel. Recommended bike: MTB, gravel, trekking. Difficulty: 2. Estimated time: 2 hours. Start: Liptovský Ján.

From Liptovský Ján we set off along a forest path under the mountain with a beautiful view of the flowering meadows. After a while we reach the singletrail leading through a deep forest along the river Vah. After crossing the swing bridge, we continue along the main road, from which we quickly get off.

After the initial steep ascent follow a long steady around 10 kilometer-ascent, where we first get to the village of Jamník and continue to the local airport. We continue along the beautiful meadow road towards the High Tatras. In front of us we see one of the peaks of the High Tatras – Baranec. However, we do not continue straight, but we go through a technical descent to the swamp 🙂 It is a nickname, because in this place is quite often wet, even though it is still sunny outside, so that’s why we call it swamp 🙂 This section is followed by a 5-kilometer beautiful descent on a sandy road leading to the village of Vavrišovo. The majestic Low Tatras rise in front of us.

We cross the village and reach the bank of the wild river Belá. We continue along its bank to the village of Liptovský Peter. We will connect to the old asphalt road leading next to the highway, which will take us to the village of Podtureň. We cross the railway and the swing bridge and we are back home – in Liptov Jan.
